Lectures by Asaf Amran

Two ways
of looking at landscape.

One is the story of a single place vanishing as it is photographed. The other is about the craft itself — how to make an image the eye is not used to seeing. Both are visual, both are available in Hebrew and English, and both are adapted to the audience and the setting.

Dying Beauty

The story of a landscape disappearing as it is photographed

In 2021 I returned to a salt formation I had photographed a year earlier and found it dry and crumbling. From that moment the camera was no longer only a tool for making a beautiful picture. The lecture is a journey into the Dead Sea from the air, from land and from within the water — and about the contradiction at its heart: the beauty is spectacular precisely because it is born of disappearance.

A craft lecture

Controlling the Weather

Creative vision in landscape photography

What turns a landscape photograph from a pretty picture into a work with depth, statement and feeling? The lecture is about developing a visual language and a personal artistic vision — beyond the technical side and the equipment. It suits photographers of years’ standing and beginners alike, and can include a segment on Dying Beauty.
